“Creator and Controller”
God is our Creator.
However, God is not our “controller” or anything like that.
Man cannot use God as a controller.
Man can use a “controller” for video game consoles.
A “controller” for videogame consoles lets you push A, B, C, X, R and so on.
A videogame controller allows a gamer to perform functions on TV.
God is not like a video game controller.
He is our Creator.
We can pray and have subtle, vague messages for Him.
But, whatever our Creator does, our Creator does.
No man can “delete” and “return” from God’s will.
God does not have visible video game buttons for us to push.
He just does what He does.
He’s not our “controller” for the free will of man.
He’s just our Creator.
Videogame players can get very angry with their controllers.
A gamer may shout at his controller and say things, like:
“Why won’t you turn?!”
“Push the button!”
“This TV doesn’t work!”
“Why doesn’t it come on?!”
“Why won’t it turn on?!”
“How does this work?!”
“The TV doesn’t come on!”
“Where’s the button?!”
“How does it work?!”
“I don’t see anything on the screen!”
“I don’t see anything on TV!”
“This stupid joystick doesn’t do anything!”
“My game is not on!”
“The driver won’t turn!”
“Why doesn’t he do anything?!”
“The controller doesn’t want to turn!”
“I’m playing Mario!”
“I know what I’m doing!”
“The buttons don’t work!”
“Unfair!”
These comments make sense for a video game controller.
However, God is not a controller.
He’s just our Creator.
We can try appealing to Him.
But, God is greater than man and a controller is not greater than man.
Man is greater than a controller, but man is not greater than God.
A controller is man’s input for a video game.
God doesn’t need man’s input to be our Creator.
