“My Love of Nerds”
A nerd goes on the internet.
He’s a nerd.
He’s just an ordinary nerd.
Maybe, he’s upset.
Maybe, he’s hurt.
Maybe, he’s exhausted.
Maybe, he’s grumpy.
Maybe, he’s intense.
Maybe, he’s wild.
Maybe, he’s crazy.
Maybe, he’s low.
Maybe, he’s confusing.
Maybe, he’s ignorant.
Maybe, he’s negative.
Or, maybe the nerd is happy and positive.
Do you know this nerd?
But, for my example, let’s say the nerd is upset, grumpy, and exhausted.
You say something positive on the internet.
You say,
“You are happy.”
You say something positive in a picture and your picture says,
“You are happy.”
You post a picture that says,
“You are happy.”
Your picture is positive and the picture looks good to you.
However…
What if the unhappy nerd looks at your picture and believes in your message?
Your picture says,
“You are happy.”
Now the unhappy nerd believes he is happy!
But, the nerd is NOT happy.
The nerd is upset, grumpy, and exhausted.
And, from error, you “tell” the nerd that he is happy, without knowing him first.
And, now, the nerd believes your picture and believes he is “happy” and jolly.
Do you know what you just did?!
Do you know what you just did?!
You just posted a false picture that gives the grumpy nerd a superstition!
The grumpy nerd now has a superstition and does not believe he is grumpy.
Now the grumpy nerd believes he is “happy”, and, he is not happy!
Do you know what you just did?!
You did a very, very bad thing.
You did not know your audience.
You did not know your listeners.
You did not know your crowd.
You did not know your viewers.
You did not perform responsible literature with understanding of authorship.
You are a lazy author.
And, you posted a wrong mirror of their understanding.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
When I write my poetry, I try avoiding that mistake.
Instead, I describe what love is to the best of my knowledge.
I never tell my audience, “You are happy.”
That’s a cheap, meaningless fortune cookie of poetry and I will never do that.
I do not know my audience enough to make that comment.
Instead, I describe love as a habit we must live for and experience personally.
We must love each other with true hearts and true spirits.
Love is not just in the heart; love is in the air.
Love happens around us where we go for romance and passion.
Love is not a meme.
Love is not a post.
Love is a kind personality for peace and harmony.
Love is not a website.
Love is not a video.
Love is not even a poem!
We need to “feel” love to “know” love.
There’s no such thing as love without feelings.
We need the best feelings for the best love.
It’s not always easy to love others.
But, if we develop communications for importance of sympathy, we will learn love.
It’s like this…
A fashionista says,
“You are happy.”
A philosopher says,
“Why are you happy?”
Do not just accept the fashion with blind notice.
You must answer the philosopher’s question as well as you can.
