“On the Commonplace Boss”
Let me talk about the commonplace boss.
The commonplace boss will appear everywhere in society.
When you realize the commonplace boss is standing in front of you, beware.
So, what exactly is the commonplace boss?
The commonplace boss will never tell you who he is.
He always keeps everything a secret, and, his noise and confusion will distract.
And, from all the noise and confusion he makes, you never discover who he is.
Who is the commonplace boss?
Well, I know his “secret” and I will write down my philosophy to inform good citizens.
This is who the commonplace boss is:
He is the commonplace boss.
He is a very, very common boss you can find in every failing business.
He never knows what his business is.
He will cause noise and confusion and pretend to know what a business is.
He is not able to know what any business is.
But, he will affect to know what a business is and mess around with other people.
He will mess around with his workers and he will mess around with his customers.
Remember… he does not know what any business is.
Often, he just wants to make money, and he never learns the means of labor.
His noise and confusion will give him and others the illusion that he has business.
But, he never has a business, because he does not know any business.
His noise and confusion flavors his ignorance, but he never abandons the ignorance.
The ignorance will always appear meaningful to him as long as he pretends to know.
What’s the irony of the commonplace boss?
Well, let me tell you:
He never expects a worker to do a job.
No, not at all!
He never expects a worker to do a job.
Instead, he expects a worker to do what he says.
That’s right!
That’s the secret of the commonplace boss.
The commonplace boss never does a job.
He is not doing a job.
He never does a job.
He never, ever, EVER does a job.
And, he does not expect a worker to do a job, but expects a worker to do what he says.
That’s the downfall of the commonplace boss.
That’s the disgrace, shame, arrogance, vice, and folly of the commonplace boss.
He never expects a worker to do a job.
Instead, he expects a worker to do what he says.
This is a pseudo business.
I would not even call this “business” a business.
It’s a pseudo business.
It’s fake, unofficial, and invalid.
A worker should only do what the boss says if the boss is doing his own job first!
The boss needs to do a job first before telling somebody else to do a job.
That’s the core requirement of business management!
It’s embarrassing when the commonplace boss never knows this.
Every worker in the workhouse might as well take a bath in tomato soup!
It’s very, very embarrassing.
So, here’s my advice with my philosophy:
The boss needs to do a job first, even if he tells you to do a job.
If the boss does not do a job first, the only proper response you can say to him is,
“If you do not do your job first, I will never do what you say.”
When this commonplace boss continues to make noise and confusion from hearing this,
Abandon him.
He has no business to be a business.
He has no business for anything.
Just abandon his pseudo business and look for a real business somewhere else.
The commonplace boss is a broken jack-in-the-box.
Find a real business somewhere else and do not hesitate to look for a real business.
