“Coming This Way”

“Bow to your king!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We don’t have kings.

“Bow down in the glory of God!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We have freedom of religion and kings have become poetic labels.

“Bow down for the king of games!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We have a democracy and kings have been dead for centuries.

“Welcome to Burger King!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We don’t bow to cashiers, kiss their feet, and give ancient wisdom.

“I’m King Richard!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We watch movies for entertainment and don’t take that loud mouth seriously.

“Thank you for watching the ‘Larry King’ show!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We listen to radio because we’re bored and aren’t thinking straight.

“B.B. King is a working legend!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We call ourselves kings out of fashion and aren’t really bowing down.

“We’ll be back to ‘King of the Hill’ after these messages!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We’re drinking and don’t drive under the influence for law.

“Mario must rescue the Mushroom Kingdom from the clutches of King Koopa!”

Uh… we’re the United States of America.

We’re not being shrunk into turtle food and going down the tubes.

How is America going to live once the kings are gone?

If people are just going to call themselves kings we might as well save it.
