“Mirrors and Photos”
Look at the photo.
Do you think someone is there?
It’s just film and ink on a slip.
Your imagination tells you someone is there.
We need intellect to see the photo for what it is.
Animals have instincts which lead them to such illusions.
They’ll bark at a mirror, they’ll chase a reflection.
How much of our thought is in a reflection?
Nothing’s there- it’s just a mirror on the wall.
Creatures of the night might as well choke their own shadows.
Of course intellectuals can have too much intellect on mirrors and photos.
It’s often believed that existence needs proof.
People aren’t so easy about just looking at reflections and imagery.
My photos always show the past.
The future can’t arrive in a previously-completed photo.
However, the future can arrive in a mirror, since its reflection isn’t completed.
Views tend to run, play, or show.
Animation is around us while we look at still photos.
Eternity comes in layers; in fact, people do things behind your back.
You’d have to break your neck to pay attention to everything.
