Videogame Review, Videocart #17-Pinball Challenge for the Fairchild Channel F Videogame Console (w/ Knob Controller)
We can’t deny the literary interpretation given by Zircon about pinball games. “Pinball” is a concept that has changed gradually off and on, generation after generation, while even the ball itself can lose its polish. This Fairchild game is very much like Super Breakout for the Atari 5200 console. Differences are subtle, light, and nothing short of fantastic. I’m not going to call this Fairchild game “trash” or something which comes out of ignorance as opposed to taste and experience; besides, those Fairchild items on eBay might appear to be “junk” now but they were a main highlight on video games for larger JC Penny stores. Pinball Challenge is a 2 Player dream. You won’t play pinball in the popular notion of it; instead, you’ll have bars, dots, and blocks which add environmental hazards between 2 players on fulfillment of the 2-flipper concept. I say let Zircon have wisdom by their personal estimates if it means that “pinball”, as a word, is redefined and thought upon for representation in God’s glory; that’s because language- words, phrases, vocab- is very much and completely a heavenly instrument we express while nature either pardons us or leaves itself another excuse. Pinball comes in lots of forms and Pinball Challenge just further illustrates the concept by use of gameplay, or evidences, in display of heart and motion for the practical sport. Super Breakout for the Atari 5200 is better than Pinball Challenge for the Fairchild since these 3 factors remain in mind: 1) the Atari 5200 console has more controllers available, 2) there’s a 4-player mode and more 1 Player opportunities, and 3) graphics flow strongly and TV volume can be adjusted. So why have gamers labeled the Atari 5200 console as one of the “Top 10 Worst”? Looks like the public isn’t doing their homework! Come on, it’s really easy to analyze these things by objective, scientific methods. Fairchild controllers are easy to handle if the player is willing to handle them like ropes or plungers of sorts. I have 2 boxed versions of the Fairchild console; however, both consoles require me to lower the TV volume to 0 so the console machines can do their work in sound production. Volume with the older Fairchild consoles is remarkable even in today’s standards- the sounds appear to come out of nowhere in sharp, intense effects which happen to portray mystery in gaming through electronic pulses I can hear from the AC outlet. (Put a plug in it!) Controls for Pinball Challenge involve varied, original forms of joystick-pulling I haven’t seen in lots of older, vintage joysticks. Atari 5200 joysticks are a cross between thumbstick and large sticks. Different modes in Pinball Challenge totally obscure reality into pleasant, short bits of video only founded on the Fairchild and pinball will be appreciated more, especially if one deserves a good mind on such matters. Don’t listen to false haters of this program; they’re quite egotistic and speak words they haven’t proven anything of.
