Poem- “Growing and Inflating”

“Growing and Inflating”

Growth and inflation.
Two words.
You have inflation, you have growth.
Each word is different.
Growth becomes increase of substance.
Inflation doesn’t get more substance during extending circumstances.
Actually, inflation can destroy an extending object.
My growing flower shouldn’t be inflated- there’s more petal, sap, and vine.
Balloons don’t get an increase in surfaced globes.
In other words, they stretch without becoming more.
A balloon isn’t growing; it’s just stretching into free environmental hazards.
It’s not an inflating tree but it’s a growing tree.
Pops are heard from inflation while growth doesn’t blow up.
Growth means whole extension over profit.
Inflation remains an elastic surface full of hot air.
Lawns don’t inflate.
That’s something you see in a cartoon world.
Inflation and growth are the same in such fantasy.
Notice how an inflating character isn’t really growing.
He’s only stretching, extending, and later on bursting into pieces.
Balloon animals don’t grow.
“Growth” is a secondary cousin in terms of inflation.
So, fantasizers like to combine opposites into equal terms.
Fire and water, grass and rock, high and low, big and small, truth and lies, etc.
I have some fantasies myself.
