Poem- “Manners”

“Manners”

You can’t live without manners.
First of all, you’ll need manners just to drink a cup of water.
The cup has been purchased with style.
Water might come from a professional delivery person.
Shipping and handling only works by procedure in the works.
Animals must be butchered under rigorous methods, rules, and standards.
People go into space with expectations.
Everything is on the line where the universe speaks for itself.
Knives cannot be held upside-down or you’ll cut your hand.
Books go by page, number, and chapter, not by rushed studying.
Neighbors protect their goods within means of support.
Lessons must begin and end for this schedule.
Romantic poets don’t accept everything that comes their way.
Goodness depends on quality and habit.
How do we drive on the road without manners at all?
Manners are needed in refinement of expression.
Vegetarianism involves behaviors to be judged on by everyone.
Does a judge have no bias?
No, he makes his case with strings attached.
Ideas alone don’t exhibit taste and reason over the matter.
A museum can’t be compared to a religious hotspot.
We have great feelings for the dead and get offended by evil.
Pain is frowned on because it changes our manners for the worst.
Certain kinds of art are always wrong.
So why do so many philosophers and poets have avoidance towards manners?
Maybe they’ll need to drink a cup of water or something- oh, wait…
