Poem- "Treats"

“Treats”

Someone walks into a movie theater.
A film rolls from the screen.
They give him sounds, music, graphics, visuals and the like.
But in the end all he’d seen was a tongue sticking out of the silver screen.
He walked in, paid for a movie ticket, and walks out with nothing.
What we have here is fancy by advantage of no compromise.
Movie theaters give you junk food and not always real food.
It’s often just a tease in flashing, expensive colors.
No morals were learned- the looks were dimensions without substance.
Popcorn can get cold on a lazy day for the takers and associates.
Cooperation is the key to satisfaction but the service can feel impersonal.
Do we need to pay our hard-earned money just to get teased at?
A false worker’s minimum wage can actually become a hazard.
We’ve imagined value from nothing on occasion.
Such treats have been formed without substance, taste, and reason.
You might as well just kiss the plain, white wall and toss your coins away.
Receipts probably don’t tell customers everything they want to know.
