Videogame Review, Space Invaders for the Super Nintendo Console (on Refurbished Wii Console w/ 3rd-Party Gamecube Controller)

The past reviewers of Space Invaders had it all wrong.  It’s a complete, total package.  We can’t just expect people to have used the old machines in the arcade and to have known anything about Space Invaders.  First of all, a game from the past can age like fine wine.  Shooters don’t always age well due to construction issues with a program.  However, I’ve been very happy with this “classic”.  A shooter like this game takes place near space and Martians come down to Earth in provoking manner; in fact, there’s layers upon layers of space-shooting mayhem as Martians take positions and launch themselves against Earth’s crust, atmosphere, and general land.  The “thump thump” music reminds me of the theme song from a movie called “Jaws”.  Gamers must also keep in mind that so many 3D games from the Nintendo Wii’s download library are absolutely terrible compared to classics such as Space Invaders.  What adult reviewers of the past said about Space Invaders is that, “Well, it’s old!  So it’s bad!”  Their conclusion is very unfair.  Players may like to know more things about the past and retro gaming is a nice hobby according to Gamestop.  Suppose Xbox players get their fill of the present, eventually grow out of their habits, and become adults uninterested in retro gaming for the Xbox.  Well, what then?  Did their Xbox fandom even matter after all?  Super Nintendo fans have generally liked Space Invaders- here, the Nintendo Wii provides me with multiple options in the display for arcade gaming through the Space Invaders retribution.  IGN and GameSpot just wanted something for nothing; their attitude was, “Oh, if a game sucks enough, I should play it for free.”  What can we expect from faithless reviewers?  Maybe I’m yelling a bit.  There’s nothing but shame for disbelievers of a classic like… like… SPACE INVADERS!!!  I’ve always wanted to know what it’d be like to play an old arcade machine shooter with a color screen overlay on my TV.  Gameplay?  Controls?  Well, it’s a complete, total package.  And, my Gamecube controller has so many kinds of firing buttons and movement toggles for Space Invaders; even just inserting “coins” to play a game over and over every now and then is fun!  I’ve gotten past the fourth stage: it’s really, really challenging, and the variety of Martian tactics will have gamers thinking quickly on their toes.  This is 70’s fare.  Going back to the past and playing old games is a marvelous idea on certain occasions because the modern games have drawn influence from old classics like Space Invaders.  Of course I understand where IGN and GameSpot are coming from.  Maybe, just maybe, they’ve played certain old games too often.  You can take the #1 game in the world and be isolated on an island; even then, there’s going to be torture from a bad habit in playing a game again and again, over and over.  It’s not the game’s fault.  If anything, it’s the gamer’s fault.  There’s a difference between being a casual fan of a video game and then just revolving on the work of art night and day like a stalker.  Are you a stalker, a historian, or a gamer?  I rest my case.
