Videogame Review, Asteroids for the Arcade (w/ Brand New Atari VCS)

Videogame Review, Asteroids for the Arcade (w/ Brand New Atari VCS)

It’s a game for days ahead.  A reviewer who does not pay attention to the story of a video game is uneducated and can’t read. Basically, a fool below tenderfoot.  For Asteroids, we do get a story if the game is suggestive enough.  It’s about travel, space exploration, and a galaxy in war.  Obstacles get in the way for a reason since the gameplay involves attack and defense under maintenance with incoming “rocks” as they appear to be.  Moving with the ship is necessary from time to time so you can chase the asteroids and bring them to destruction.  Aliens don’t technically “appear” in the game because the UFOs (or, spaceships) may be exhibiting an illusion of living creatures.  The Atari VCS is Atari’s new gaming console.  It’s also called other things.  Asteroids, even if it’s an “old” game, should do the trick if you’re ready for some action.  Keep in mind that there’s not that many sequels to Asteroids.  And, what’s more, modern video games just simply don’t have this technology.  You don’t see that many modern games with laser graphics, rapid shooting, and outstanding forces of space.  Asteroids for the Atari 2600 video game console was not exactly a shooter game for as much speed.  For the most part, the Atari 2600 video game console was more of a “bang bang” sort of video game machine than the arcade.  Arcade games take time with smooth effects where it counts.  I’m using Atari’s modern controller, or, Xbox-style controller.  Atari’s classic joystick works OK for Asteroids.  But, for the greatest effect, Atari’s Xbox-style controller is the way to play Asteroids with.  I just get better mileage, better fire, and better performance with Atari’s modern controller.  It sounds like I’m talking about 2 controllers.  However, I’m only talking about 1 controller, and, Atari’s classic joystick.  A problem with the classic joystick is that the classic joystick wobbles.  Asteroids did not have wobbling controls in the arcade.  So, the classic joystick is a little extra with nothing to give up much.  Going around space takes practice.  Notice that your spaceship will typically dash when approaching speed of light.  You can see lots of light in the game.  The graphics are minimalism with strength of contrast with the best visuals for the time.  Honestly, with 4K TV, Asteroids has never looked better.  My Atari VCS video game console does have issues with high definition TV sometimes.  There’s no errors for Asteroids that exist even if I don’t see them, for, they do not exist.  Asteroids has been FREE for me to play.  To good effect, Asteroids is one of the kings of shooter games.  We know Call of Duty is better.  Then again, Asteroids was a game available in the video game industry so many years before Call of Duty.  That counts as an effective means of production for videogames- that is, show the game early in the years and let people play the game to have a new, ever-lasting habit.  I’ve never seen an Asteroids arcade machine.  In fact, I haven’t been speaking to an Atari fan since… well, ever!  I’m alone in my world.  I’m the only Atari fan I know.  I see Atari fans on the internet.  For the matter of speaking about it, the internet is the reason why Atari is returning to video games in the first place.  Asteroids is an excellent arcade game.  The shooting gets intense and exciting.  I don’t know about every Asteroids sequel made in the Asteroids series.  But, I know the original game is so good for a fun time and it’s a learning experience.
