“Irony of Freedom”
Freedom of speech is not always speech.
The phrase begins with the word “freedom”, not “speech”.
Remember what a dictator’s speech is.
Speech is not always a kind of freedom.
Readers can stop reading this poem and turn off their computers.
Maybe they need a little quiet.
That’s fine.
It’s really about freedom.
And, for freedom, we get both silence and noise within reach of liberty.
“What does that mean?”
Shut up!
